How can Counselling & Psychotherapy help you?

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you resolve life issues and create strategies and supports for positive change.  My approach is client-centred and results focused. Through a therapeutic process that promotes self-awareness, healing, integration and personal growth, you will develop a greater capacity for full and healthy living.

My clients include women and men who:

I also work with couples who want to:

My Background

I am a counselling psychotherapist and registered social worker.  I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Masters in Social Work (MSW) in 1987.  I then continued in post graduate training, completing a 3 year intensive with the Gestalt Institute of the National Capital in Ottawa in 1996.  I continue to bring new learning and professional skill to my practice through ongoing education.  Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural, Body Awareness and Emotional Focused approaches are incorporated into my work with clients.  I also have training in Eye Movement Integration (EMI), an effective brief treatment therapy for resolving past traumatic issues that continue to interfere with present healthy living.

My counselling and educational services are provided with compassion as well as competence.  Client confidentiality is assured in a safe environment.  My relationship with clients is based on my genuine caring and respect for them and my belief in their capacity for healing and growth.  I subscribe to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Fees

As a registered social worker, and as an affiliate of a registered psychologist, my fees are covered in full or in part under most extended health packages.  Receipts can be issued for insurance purposes. For further information, see sandra-miller@wholenessandgrowth.ca
